Surfshark started in 2018. With just 30 employees, the company launched its first product, a VPN, which quickly gained global attention. Since then, Surfshark has pursued innovation, expanded its team, and released a comprehensive online security suite. This suite features a VPN, Antivirus, personal data masking tool Alternative ID, data leak detection system Alert, private browsing tool Search, and Incogni — an automated personal data removal system.
What are our latest innovations?
At Surfshark, innovation is the driving force behind everything we do. Over the past few years, we’ve launched new products and implemented improvements designed to enhance user experience and security.
Our latest advancements include launching identity and email masking tool Alternative ID, introducing a phone number protection tool, releasing a free Data Leak Checker, receiving AV test certification for Surfshark Antivirus, offering a VPN with unlimited simultaneous connections and an audited no-logs policy, and more.
In addition to these achievements, we have co-founded the VPN Trust Initiative, joined the UN Global Compact, continuously researched Digital Quality of Life worldwide, and introduced the Internet Shutdown Tracker and the Smart Homes Privacy Checker.

The FT1000, compiled by the Financial Times in partnership with Statista, is an annual ranking of the fastest-growing companies in Europe. The list identifies companies that have achieved the highest annual growth rate in the past four years.
The ranking is created through extensive research, checking several criteria for inclusion: independence, headquarters in Europe, organic growth, and more. The methodology ensures that only the most dynamic businesses are recognized, making our inclusion on the list a significant achievement.
