2018: Surfshark VPN launch
In 2018, Surfshark was established by our CEO Vytautas Kaziukonis, and launched its first product — a VPN.
2020: Surfshark — among the top 3 most popular VPNs
By 2020, just two years after launching, Surfshark jumped high up in the charts and became one of the most-known VPN apps.
2021: Surfshark launches Incogni and merges with Nord Security
In 2021, Surfshark created Incogni — a data removal service that helps individuals automatically request the removal of their personal information from data broker websites. In the same year, Surfshark joined forces with Nord Security.
2022: Surfshark now has servers in 100 countries
After raising the number of servers over the years, Surfshark reached the milestone of 3,200+ servers in 100 countries.
2023: Surfshark and Nord Security doubled valuation to 3 billion dollars
This year, Surfshark and Nord Security’s combined forces successfully obtained a $100M investment from global growth investor Warburg Pincus. In just over a year, we also doubled our company valuation from $1.6B to $3B.
2024: Surfshark named as one of the top 50 fastest-growing companies in Europe by FT1000
We ranked 47th overall and took 8th place in the IT & Software category in the Financial Times 1000: Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies list.
