A hand climbing up the stairs with its fingers and 1000 Europes fastest growing companies written at the top.

It’s an exciting day here at Surfshark. And not only because spring is finally here — in just over 5 years since our establishment, Surfshark landed among the top 50 in the Financial Times 1000: Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies list! We ranked 47th overall and took 8th place in the IT & Software category. Let’s delve deeper into what ranking on the prestigious FT’s 1000 list means to us.

What does this ranking mean to Surfshark?

Surfshark was created in 2018. We launched our first product — a VPN — in the same year and started gaining international recognition straight away. Since then, Surfshark released 5 more digital products for more robust online privacy and security. Being ranked among the top 50 fastest-growing companies in Europe in such a short period is a remarkable achievement, given our humble beginnings as a team of around 30 people.

We are proud to receive this ranking from a trustworthy and credible source such as the Financial Times and Statista. Being recognized by these organizations is an honor and a testament to our employees’ dedication and hard work. The growth we experienced showcases that our products and services are trusted and needed to defend against the ever-evolving online threats.

What our future holds

In the last 5 years, aside from improving the quality of our products and developing new ones, we pursued numerous initiatives to grow beyond business. We collaborated with NGOs and launched various research initiatives, such as the Digital Quality of Life Index and the Internet Shutdown Tracker. We recently released the Annual Wrap-Up 2023, highlighting Surfshark’s technical, educational, and social responsibility accomplishments from the last year. In 2024 and onward, we will continue to strive for the best product quality and pursue more initiatives to do our part as a socially responsible business.
