Our environmental impact
We take climate action seriously. In 2025, we measured our greenhouse gas emissions across all three scopes and took concrete steps to reduce our footprint:
- 100% renewable energy powers both our Vilnius and Kaunas offices;
- Received the “Excellent” BREEAM certifications;
- Our Vilnius office partners with Green Genius biogas plants to transform organic waste into renewable energy;
- We’ve continued to a circular economy approach, selling or donating used electronics and furniture internally and ensuring proper e-waste recycling for everything else.
Empowering change with trusted organizations
Beyond our walls, we’re actively supporting the causes that matter most. Through partnerships with organizations like Access Now, the Global Encryption Coalition, and the International Press Institute, we’re defending digital rights and press freedom worldwide.
In 2025 alone:
- We provided Emergency VPN access to over 2,500 journalists, activists, and NGO representatives in restricted regions;
- We planted over 9,000 trees in Lithuania through our walking challenge initiative;
- During the winter holidays, we doubled employee donations to support children, teens, older adults, and Ukraine relief efforts.
Our governance and economic impact
Trust and transparency are non-negotiable. That’s why we’ve built our operations around strong ethical principles:
- All employees complete annual training on information security, privacy, anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and workplace safety;
- We conduct comprehensive risk assessments and due diligence on vendors handling sensitive data or critical operations;
- Independent audits from Deloitte back our no-logs policy, and we fully comply with GDPR, UK DPA, and CCPA standards.
Keeping our products safe and secure
Security isn’t just a feature — it’s our foundation. In 2025, we reinforced our commitment to user safety:
- 100% RAM-only servers across our global network ensure data is wiped with every reboot;
- Assurance assessments by Deloitte, Cure53, and SecuRing confirmed our infrastructure and applications meet the highest security standards;
- Our Android app passed the Mobile App Security Assessment (MASA).
What’s next
Sustainability is a journey, not a destination. We’ll continue listening to our users, evolving our ESG priorities, and repeating our materiality assessment every few years — with the next one planned for 2026.
