When you connect to the internet with a VPN on, you don’t connect to the internet directly. Your first point of contact is a VPN server, and your data is transferred via a secure tunnel. It shields your private information from being easily accessible to hackers, your Internet Service Provider, or the government.
We use AES-256-GCM encryption, the fastest and most up-to-date encryption method that is currently available. Another essential part of a VPN is the protocols it uses. Two of the main ones we use are open-source protocols called OpenVPN and IKEv2, and while they are both fast and secure, each works better in specific scenarios. For example, IKEv2 is more rapid than OpenVPN if the server you’re connecting to is nearby.
