Surfshark Giveaway Rules

1. Eligibility

1.1. Surfshark Giveaway (the “Giveaway”) is open to participants who participate in the Giveaway during the Giveaway period (the “Participant” or “Participants”).

1.2. Participants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of entry.

1.3. Participants must have read and accepted Surfshark’s Terms and Conditions before purchasing a Surfshark subscription.

1.4. Participants must comply with YouTube Community Guidelines, YouTube Terms of Service.

1.5. By proceeding the Participants acknowledge that they have read the terms of service outlined in https://www.sideplus.com/legals#terms-of-use and understand that compliance with these terms is their responsibility. This includes the understanding that it is the Participant’s responsibility to identify and adhere to any restrictions specified in the terms.

Please note that this Giveaway is applicable to all Participants worldwide under the same conditions. If the mandatory laws of your country or the terms of service of the merchant from which you purchased the subscription impose certain restrictions, kindly refrain from participating in the Giveaway.

2. Giveaway period

2.1. The Giveaway will begin on 12 May, 2024 and end on 12 June, 2024.

3. How to participate

To enter the Giveaway, participants must do the following during the Giveaway period:

3.1. Visit the Giveaway website (https://surfshark.deals/sidemen).

3.2. Purchase any Surfshark 2-year subscription (Surfshark Starter, Surfshark One, or Surfshark One+) using the promotional code “SIDEMEN”.

3.3. Each Participant will receive one Gift (as described below) for each valid subscription purchased following these Rules.

4. Gift and delivery

4.1. Each Participant who follows these Rules will be eligible for a voucher which can be utilized on the e-shop found at https://www.sideplus.com (the Gift) valued at either 1, 2 or 3 months Side+ subscription, depending on their chosen Surfshark subscription plan: Surfshark Starter – 1 month, Surfshark One – 2 months, or Surfshark One+ – 3 months.

4.2. The Gift will be provided to Participants who have not refunded their subscription within 30 days, from the moment of purchase (any subscriptions purchased during the Giveaway period and subsequently canceled are not eligible for the Gift). 

4.3. The Gift will be delivered to the email address associated with the Surfshark account. The Gift will be delivered 31 days after the initial purchase date.

4.4. The Organizer does not assume any responsibility if the Participant provides an invalid email address and for this reason does not receive the voucher for the Gift. Furthermore, the Organizer is not liable for:

4.4.1. Inaccuracy or incompleteness of the Participant’s provided details required for voucher redemption.

4.4.2. Any technical malfunctions, interruptions, or errors that may occur during the voucher generation, transmission, or redemption process, whether caused by the Participant’s equipment, software, or internet service providers.

4.4.3. Unauthorized access, use, or tampering with the redemption system, voucher, or any related mechanisms by third parties.

4.5. IMPORTANT: Each Participant can redeem the Gift during the period of 12 (twelve) months from the moment of receipt of the Gift. If the Participant does not redeem the Gift during this period, the Participant will not be able to redeem it later.

5. General Conditions:

5.1. Surfshark reserves the right to disqualify any Participant who violates these Rules or attempts to manipulate the entry process or the operation of the Giveaway.

5.2. Surfshark reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Giveaway if any fraud, technical failures, or other factors beyond Surfshark’s control impair the integrity of the Giveaway.

5.3. Surfshark is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected entries or for any computer-related, online, or technical malfunctions that may occur during the entry process.

5.4. The Participant hereby agrees to be in full compliance with all applicable laws, including but not limited to international sanctions. Failure to adhere to these legal obligations may result in disqualification or other appropriate actions as determined by the Organizer.

By participating in the Surfshark Giveaway, Participants agree to abide by these Rules and all decisions made by Surfshark.

Privacy notice for participants of the Giveaway

This Privacy Notice explains how Surfshark B.V. (we or Surfshark) collects, uses, and protects your personal data in relation to the Giveaway. We are committed to ensuring the privacy and security of your personal information and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Purposes of processing

We will process your personal data for the following purposes:

• Organizing the Giveaway effectively;
• Contacting the Participant of the Giveaway;
• Delivering the Gift.

2. Personal data processed

The personal data we process may include:

• E-mail address;
• The fact of whether the person has bought a subscription;
• Subscription ID, date of purchase, attribution link;
•  Communication with the Participant;
• Information needed for Gift delivery.

Your personal data will be retained for as long as the Gift may be redeemed and will be deleted no later than 6 months after that.

The Giveaway is governed by Rules that the Participants agree to, therefore, we have a necessity to process your personal data for the performance of a contract.

3. Data recipients

Your personal data may be transferred to and stored in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA), where data protection laws may differ. In such cases, we will ensure that adequate safeguards are in place to protect your personal data, as required by applicable data protection laws, specifically by entering into the standard contractual clauses with the data recipients established outside the EEA.

4. Children’s privacy

This Giveaway is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals below this age. If you believe that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child, please contact us to request the deletion of such data.

We do not use automated decision-making processes, including profiling, to make decisions that significantly affect you.
