Senior Product Data Analyst (Payments)

Want to lead a culture of data-driven decision-making? Love turning data into meaningful, actionable insights? If so, we want you on our Data team at Surfshark! This team comprises experts who specialize in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large amounts of data, as well as building predictive models using machine learning algorithms. The Data team also takes pride in creating robust ETLs and dashboards that allow other teams to monitor, plan, and achieve their goals effectively.
As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in building a self-service-enabled reporting layer, helping businesses extract insights and knowledge from vast amounts of data. If this sounds interesting, read along!

If you want to:

  • Own payments analytics across the full lifecycle, from checkout and authorization to refunds, chargebacks, and long-term revenue impact;
  • Act as the analytical partner for payments product owners, engineers, and stakeholders, translating complex business questions into clear, actionable analyses;
  • Design and build end-to-end analytics solutions, including data modeling, metric definitions, dashboards, deep-dive analyses, and decision frameworks;
  • Define and maintain core payments metrics (e.g. approval rates, decline reasons, fraud signals), ensuring consistency and trust across the organization;
  • Drive experimentation and analysis around payment methods, pricing, routing, PSP performance, and checkout UX;
  • Proactively surface insights, risks, and opportunities that materially impact revenue, costs, and customer experience;
  • Contribute to product analytics standards around data quality, documentation, reproducibility, and analytical best practices within the Product Data Team.
  • And you can check off:

  • Strong hands-on experience in product analytics within SaaS, consumer apps, or digital products, ideally with exposure to payments, billing, or monetization;
  • Advanced SQL skills and confidence working with large-scale, event-level datasets;
  • Experience with modern analytics stacks and workflows (e.g. dbt, Looker / Tableau, Git);
  • Proven ability to turn messy, ambiguous product or business problems into structured analytical workstreams with clear outcomes;
  • Solid understanding of experimentation, funnel analysis, cohort analysis, and causal thinking;
  • Excellent communication skills: you can explain complex analytical findings clearly, concisely, and in a way that drives decisions.

  • Here’s the deal:

  • Growth and learning opportunities: time dedicated to learning, conferences, online learning platforms, and books for your professional development;
  • Health and wellness: we want you to feel and be your best. That's why we offer various benefits, from online workouts and a physical coach to health insurance and regular mental health checks;
  • Tools of your choice: choose the technical equipment and tools you need to do your best work;
  • Community and celebrations: get ready for long-lasting traditions such as yearly workation, Friday get-togethers, various team buildings and company celebrations;
  • Work-life balance: We encourage working in the office, with the possibility of up to two remote days per week. Plus, with our WFA policy, you can work from almost anywhere in the world;
  • More days off: additional vacation days depending on your tenure;
  • Premium Surfshark accounts: for you, your family, and friends;
  • Gross salary: 4000-5200 Eur/month. Although it may vary depending on your skills and experience.
