Senior Linux Sysadmin (DC-NET team)

We are looking for a skilled Distributed Storage Engineer to play a crucial role in our Infrastructure Team. As a part of this team, you’d be responsible for the smooth operation of our systems and servers with a focus on storage systems. Rest assured, you won’t be tackling these challenges alone. Our team of Systems Administrators, Network Engineers, Monitoring Experts, Infrastructure Analysts, Cloud Specialists, and Security Supervisors is a tight-knit group that enjoys working together, solving problems, and growing as a team. If you want to:

  • Design, manage, and optimize our Ceph storage for peak performance;
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for Ceph storage management tasks like provisioning, scaling, and data migration;
  • Establish and maintain disaster recovery plans for Ceph storage to minimize data loss and downtime;
  • Document Ceph configurations and procedures and share knowledge and best practices with the team;
  • Design and implement virtualized environments;
  • Assist with server releases, software installations, and upgrades;
  • Monitor system health, respond to alerts, and ensure low latency;
  • Manage server capacity, including adding new servers as needed;
  • Collaborate with the team to improve system performance;
  • Maintain system documentation;
  • Stay updated on relevant technologies and practices.

  • And you can check off:

  • 3+ years of Linux administration experience;
  • Proficiency in automation tools, particularly Ansible;
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware components and functions;
  • Expertise in virtualization systems;
  • Understanding of security best practices for storage and virtualization systems;
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines consistently;
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive problem-solving approach.

  • Bonus points if you:

  • Have experience with deploying and configuring Proxmox clusters, virtual machines, and containers, as well as Kubernetes;
  • Understand infrastructure and virtualization with KVM, and cloud computing platforms like AWS or Google Cloud;
  • Have experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) or Prometheus;
  • Possess strong networking skills to aid in architecture and implementation.
