Engineering Manager, Core Services (Incogni)

As our products, systems, and user base continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced engineering leader to lead our Core Services team. This role combines people leadership, technical strategy, and architectural decision-making, with a strong focus on helping us evolve from a monolithic system toward a scalable services architecture.

Today, our platform is primarily built with PHP and Go, running on AWS and Kubernetes. You'll help define and execute the next stage of our architectural evolution while supporting a team responsible for some of the most critical backend systems in the company.

If you want to:

  • Help shape the evolution of our architecture;

  • Establish engineering standards, architectural principles, and development practices that help teams scale;

  • Lead and grow a backend engineering team by hiring and developing strong engineers;

  • Work closely with engineering leaders and teams across the organization on technical direction and major architectural decisions;

  • Balance product delivery, technical debt reduction, and long-term engineering investments.

And you can check off:

  • Experience leading engineering teams through periods of rapid growth and architectural change (monolith-to-services, etc.);

  • Strong software engineering background with experience building and operating backend systems at scale;

  • Experience establishing engineering standards and improving development practices across teams;

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills;

  • Ability to balance business priorities with long-term technical goals.

Bonus points if you:

  • Have experience with PHP and/or Go, AWS, and Kubernetes;

  • Have experience in privacy, security, or data-protection-focused products
